I have a Confession....

I have a confession to make...

For the last month or so, I've been dealing with some horrible symptoms.

All of them having to do with my digestive system. I'm not really sure what's going on right now.

Last week I went to the ER because of the pain and sickness that I was going through. I really haven't felt like eating at all. I literally feel to sick to my stomach all the time. There is no food that even sounds good to me.

Anyway, I went and they ran a bunch of tests. They took blood, did a gallbladder ultrasound, did a CT on my abdomen, and some other random tests. Unfortunately, there were unable to tell me what has been causing this. On the bright side, there doesn't seem to be any "serious" illness causing this.

I consulted with a Christian Ladies Forum on Facebook and they gave me some great advice. A few of the ladies said that my symptoms make it seem like I may have Celiac Disease. If you don't know what that is, it's basically having a gluten-allergy. Having this allergy affects your intestines and won't let you properly absorb the nutrients you need from wheat products.

Unfortunately, there are not many food items that don't have wheat in them! After doing a little research, I was completely surprised at what food items contain wheat (like soy sauce and ketchup)! I have heard the number of people with a gluten-allergy is becoming increasingly large due to the way wheat is made now. Also, I know many people that are allergic to dairy and I've heard it can cause the same symptoms.

For these reasons, I have decided to eat gluten and dairy-free for the next 60 days, in order to see if my symptoms improve. If they do, then this will probably be a lifestyle change for me (and my family). It won't be easy, by any means, but I seriously cannot live like this. I'm pretty much in constant discomfort and I always feel sick. Although it won't be easy, it's definitely NOT impossible. I believe the Lord can help me to do this.

Most likely, I'll be eating similarly to the Hallelujah Diet. Although, I may have lean meat, like chicken and fish for dinner, and turkey bacon and eggs for breakfast.

I hope that you all will pray for me in this endeavor. Pray that I will be able to stay faithful at it and that the Lord would allow my body to heal quickly. I really just want to feel 100% so that I can be the best Christian wife and mother that God has called me to be.

Also, if you are one of my friends or relatives that I see often, please do not be offended if I don't eat the food you make for us or bring for a church fellowship. It's only because I'm trying to do what's best for my body. Thanks for understanding!

There. I feel better getting that off my chest. :)

Now, PLEASE go check out my post today over at Covered In Grace! Check out Brooke's blog while you're there, too! :)
