**Sorry to all my friends on Facebook and Instagram that saw this pic. I know I've promised this post for awhile now, and HERE IT IS! **
In the last couple of years, I have learned so much about making things "homemade". I guess it all started with a desire to a certain type of food, then realizing it was costly to purchase it every week. In an effort to cut back our budget, I started to explore all types of different homemade food items.
Then, after conquering the food, I wondered what ELSE could be made at home at little cost to me. So, from then on, I've been trying my best to find better, less expensive things that can be made in the comfort of our home. And, I gotta say that I really enjoy it!
Of course there are times when life gets busy (like lately) and I just don't have the extra time to put in making things, but at those times, I don't feel guilty....I just roll with the punches and buy what I need. :)
Just remember when making homemade, it might not always taste or look quite the same, but it's usually ALWAYS better on your budget and body!!
A couple weekends ago, my husband was working, so the kids and I enjoyed a nice Saturday together. We relaxed and made some homemade "kid food".
(Of course, the boy wasn't any as big of a help as Ruby)
Anyway, we made Homemade Granola Bars (Ruby's favorite) and Homemade Chicken Nuggets. This was my first time every making the nuggets, and they came out quite nicely!
Here are the pictures of our Festivities:
(I only took pics of the granola bars, sorry! )
As much as I'd LOVE to take credit for both of these recipes, I cannot.

The Homemade Granola Bar recipe came from one of my favorite bloggers, Heather at Want What You Have. Her blog has a TON of DIY and Homemade ideas. She's a super frugal mama that TOTALLY inspires me!
The Homemade Chicken Nuggets recipe came from another one of my favorite blogs, The Skinny Mom's Kitchen. Tammy has a TON of great, healthy recipes and freezer-friendly recipes. I read her blog quite often!
Enjoy your Wednesday! :)

The granola bar looks so interesting. I am not much of a fan of it but my husband and boys are, I think I'd like to make it for them.
Thanks for sharing Danielle.
