Good Afternoon! :)
Today I really just wanted to share something that's been weighing on my mind recently.
I'm sure you've heard the term "Housewife" before. Of course you have! "Desperate Housewives" was one of the most popular shows on television! That, along with other reality "housewife" shows irritate me beyond belief. I honestly have never watched much of them, but just the fact that they exist, to me, is ridiculous.
Can I just say that I really dislike the term "housewife"?? And not only that, but also the term "Stay-at-home-mom". For a long time I considered myself a "stay-at-home-mom". Which, in reality, that's what I was, but there's just something missing about those terms. They're definitely lacking...

Yes, I may stay at home with my children. Yes, I may be technically be a "housewife". But is that really all my job boils down to? Is taking care of my kids and house all that I do throughout my life?
Absolutely not! So, from now on, I refuse to label myself as a "stay-at-home-mom" or "housewife". I'm officially dubbing myself a "Homemaker". Why you may ask?
Because, my job is so much more than just taking care of my kids. It's also so much more than just taking care of my husband and house. It's literally my job to MAKE my house and home what it is. I spend the majority of my time there, so I am literally responsible for making my home what it is or what it is not. Making it beautiful, making it special, making memories, only allowing wholesome influences in, treasuring keepsakes, making it smell pleasant (keeping it from smelling bad! haha), and so much more!

Now, after considering both of those "other" terms, doesn't Homemaker just sound so much better? I think so.
So, if you agree with me, then let's start referring to ourselves as "Homemaker's"...
Since that's really what we are.
Thanks to all you lovely ladies that take the time to make your homes what they are. I'm sure your husband and children are very blessed to have you in their life. :)
